Inspiring, Elegant, Beautiful

I’ve found & replaced the WordPress theme which disappeard on me a few weeks back but although it all looks the same it doesn’t seem to work the same. I love the colour, warmth & richness of this current theme I’m using (which is called Rose1) but I feel I need to find another one.

I’ve searched and searched. I’ve downloaded themes & tried them out only to find codes & things weren’t working properly. I know there are thousands of themes out there but I’m wondering if you could keep an eye out for me & let me know if you come across a blog or theme you think I’d like.

I found a gorgeous one for my Blogger blog – EP’s Treasures, so something between the two styles would be nice, with a nice header or space for me to add my own; and preferably with three columns…. & pref a free template.

I don’t ask for much do I?

I’ll continue my search sifting through the thousands of themes around but if anyone knows of a good site please let me know.

Be joyful always, pray at all times, be thankful in all circumstances. This is what God wants from you in your life in union with Christ Jesus.Do not restrain the Holy Spirit; do not despise inspired messages. Put all things to the test: keep what is good and avoid every kind of evil.

1 Thessalonians 5: 16-22

As we wait for the coming of Pentecost and we celebrate the birthday of the church, pray that there will be an outpouring of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The gifts which are given to us are not just for ourselves but also for the good of others. So we must excerise these gifts day by day. You’ve heard the adage – ‘If you don’t use it you’ll lose it’.  So it is with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Be led by Spirit in everything you do, and when you begin something with the Holy Spirit don’t end on your own steam but stay with the Him.

FOR TODAY

Outside my window

… it’s been raining heavily and the sun has just managed to peek through the clouds. Everything outside is glistening…. but doesn’t look like it will last long.

I am thinking

… of how quickly winter cold has come during autumn and although I’m so happy to see plenty of rain finally falling, I wish the cold would hold off a little longer.

I am thankful for

… my wonderful son whom my Lord has given to me.

From the learning rooms

… although our homeschooling is finished we’re finding that life is an ongoing classroom.

From the kitchen

…  a fresh pot of organic coffee is percolating and the aroma is wafting through the house … mmmm, I’ve already had a cup of tea but now I’m looking forward to a hot cup of coffee.

I am wearing

… a black skirt with long sleeve magenta coloured top, white spotted long, black ‘over the knee’ socks and brown ankle boots.

I am creating

… a new interior for the garage. It’s a conversion from a hoarder’s storage area to my new creative space.

I am praying for

… my friend Therese who is in Rome and then goes on to Canada.

I am going

… to stay indoors today.

I am reading

… only snippets of various things.

I am hoping

… to meet more new blogging friends.

I am hearing

… the wind howling around the house. Not a day for going oudoors.

Around the house

…there’s a mound of ironing to do and the kitchen floor needs a mop.

One of my favourite things...

…a gorgeous orange/red sunset.

A few plans for the rest of the week:

I need to check out an exercise place called Contours. I’ll be joining up with a local walking group so weather permitting I’ll do my first ‘walk’ with them tomorrow. Finish inserting the ceiling insulation in the garage.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing

What is ANZAC Day?

ANZAC Day – 25 April – is probably Australia’s most important national occasion. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces quickly became known as ANZACs, and the pride they soon took in that name endures to this day.

Why is this day special to Australians?

When war broke out in 1914 Australia had been a federal commonwealth for only 14 years. The new national government was eager to establish its reputation among the nations of the world. In 1915 Australian and New Zealand soldiers formed part of the allied expedition that set out to capture the Gallipoli peninsula to open the way to the Black Sea for the allied navies…….. More

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

… Lest we forget.

My little business which has been on pause and working at a minimum for almost 18 months (due to health reasons) is still working at a minimum. However, I am shamelessly promoting it here on my Precious Treasures blog with the Mother’s Day Special.

I’m praying for guidance to see what I should do with my ‘business’. I’d love to continue my creative work and I also love decorative home wares.

In the meantime I need to sell off my current stocks so do come for a browse through the store and tell me what you think …….

I absolutely love sunsets so the result had to be ‘dusk’ for me …

You Are Dusk

You are a naturally idealistic and creative person. You look forward to nights where everything is possible.
You spend most of your energy on play. Work is okay, but the true you emerges after the work day is done.
You’re an offbeat type that doesn’t like rules or schedules. Life’s too short to waste at a desk in a cube.
Whether you spend your night socializing or working on side projects, you like that your time is yours.

Are You Dusk or Dawn?

These quizes are a bit of a giggle ….

roses1.jpgPro-Life marches and prayer vigils were the only events I took part in to fight against abortion – I never thought I was ‘brave’ enough to go further and take part in an attempted ‘shut down’ of an abortion clinic. Well, this morning I did along with another 70-80 pro life activists (including children and babies).

It was peaceful and prayerful and we managed to shut down the clinic for a few hours until police stepped in ……. we continued on in prayer before leaving the site for the next protest at Federation Square. Unfortunately Vincent & I had to leave after this demonstration but the others continued on in front of Flinders Street Station and along the Princes Bridge where they unfurled a banner over the side of the bridge.

This may seem a useless exercise to some but the youth are here to stay. They are growing in numbers and will continue their campaign to end abortion.

As usual the media coverage isn’t the best and not complete. This time they are trying to remain ‘neutral’ – You can read a couple of fairly simple reports in The Age and Herald Sun

We must not give up – we must continue ……

…. to stand against abortion and to protect Victorian women and their children from these crimes.

We are not going away because while they kill children in Victoria, we will continue to stand up against the people that murder our youth here and who victimise and betray our women. Prue Neiderding – founder and leader of Youth for Life

I still can’t figure out what’s gone wrong with the theme I was using for my blog.

A few prayers are needed so I can find one that really says Precious Treasures. So I’ll settle for this current theme temporarily. There are lots of ‘bits’ missing including my signature, but I’ll have them all back in the sidebar as soon as I find the right theme.

God Bless,

Elena
