FOR TODAY...

Outside my window...

... the winter sun is streaming through our north facing windows. It's feels so good to have the sun warming the room.

I am thinking...

... about my son's 18th birthday - not until October but the plans for celebrating it are being tossed about.

I am thankful for...

... My God who takes care of my every need.

From the learning rooms...

... write it down in your diary so you don't forget.

From the kitchen...

... there is left over caramel mud cake from Sunday's prayer meeting ... and it's waiting for me to pull it out of the fridge and eat it 🙂

I am wearing...

... now don't laugh ... my exercise clothes - track pants, t-shirt and runners - 'cos I'm off to exercise after I've eaten my cake 🙂

I am creating...

... a workable work space ... yes, it's the never ending saga which I hope will eventually end so I can show you before & after pics.

I am praying for...

... the Iranian people

I am going...

... out to exercise soon.

I am reading...

... can't think at the moment ... that probably means 'nothing'.

I am hoping...

... to stop procrastinating about changing my eating habits if I'm going to lose weight.

I am hearing...

... the clock ticking from the kitchen..... well it was the only thing I could hear until my son started on the piano, lol .... not complaining, he's good.

Around the house...

... floor needs mopping, family room needs a tidy up, carpet needs a vacuum ... maybe I should forget going off to exercise, lol.

One of my favourite things...

... vintage pictures.

A few plans for the rest of the week:

... I'm hoping to create a new batch of gift cards; Take a couple of walks in the sunshine; write more post for all three blogs;

Here is a picture thought I am sharing...

If you would like to join in, please visit Peggy, who hosts The Simple Woman’s Daybook, and also check out other Daybook entries.

While Peggy is taking a well deserved break from her daybook,  Grandmother Wren will be hosting it so we can meet up with those who wish to continue their daybooks until Peggy's return.

  1. Elena,

Our eldest celebrates his 18th on New Years Day 2010. Your son must have been born about 3 months before him.

Daniel has already planned his party. He tells me it will be at the local footy club and he will have an after party at our house. I may have to think about that for a bit longer.

  2. I know what you mean Therese. Vincent has all kind of ideas about his 18th. I listen, offer my thoughts …. and then pray for the Lord’s guidance. His birthday is on the 13th Oct.

  3. I enjoyed reading your Daybook. Nice pics. I need to stop procrastinating about changing my eating habits, too!

  4. Thank you Susan. Don’t know why it’s so hard, lol.

  5. Winter sun? Obviously, we don’t live close to one another! lol

I’m right there with you on the exercise and eating, though I’m not even wearing the exercise clothes yet. At least you look the part!

    Those pictures are lovely.

  6. That’s right Bonita – I’m in the southern hemisphere…. way down south in Ausralia 🙂

  7. Winter?… wow we just had our first day of summer here in NY…. I run also and I am still in my outfit.. Blessings

  8. I enjoyed your daybook. I, too, need to quit procrastinating about changing my eating habits …

  9. Cake, exercise, a bit of space clearing –
sounds like a Very Good Day to me!

    And your rose work….
    Simply Lovely!

Thank you for sharing your Daybook, Elena, and for linking in at Grandmother Wren’s. Please stop back every week.

  10. I love vintage pictures, too! Thanks for sharing a few with us!

  11. We just finished studying about Australia for vacation bible school. It was so interesting learning about the land down under. Your country is beautiful! And your daybook was fun to read. Love the idea of working out after having a piece of cake. That’s what I call leading a balanced life!

Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a blessed week.

  12. Thank you for all your lovely thoughts. I’ve enjoyed visiting your daybooks too 🙂

  13. I’ve always wanted to visit Australia. Such beauty! *Sigh* Maybe someday…

Dessert for breakfast is one of my favorite ways to start the day! At least you had the intention of exercising afterward. In my book, that certainly counts for something (even if you didn’t get to it).

Hope you have a wonderful week!

  14. Thank you for linking your Simple Woman’s Daybook at Grandmother Wren’s last week.
Please stop by this week and add your link again. I’d love to see this continue throughout the summer, allowing us to stay in touch with other Daybookers during Peggy’s vacation.
    Please keep coming back –
I look forward to seeing you!
