A day of Proverbs

12:1  Anyone who loves knowledge wants to be told when he is wrong. It is stupid to hate being corrected.

14:1  Homes are made by the wisdom of women, but are destroyed by foolishness.

15:24:  Wise people walk the road that leads upward to life, not the road that leads downward to death.

22:6  Teach a child how he should live, and he will remember it all his life.

4:7  Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do. Whatever else you get, get insight.

Inspired thought: When we seek the face of Christ, we seek His wisdom.

At today’s Prayer & Praise Meeting this following scripture was shared. The words are so beautiful ……..

Listen to me, you devout children of mine and blossom like a rosebush on a stream bank. Bloom like a sweet-smelling lily and send your fragrance into the air like incense. Sing the Lord’s praises and thank Him for all that He has done. Proclaim His glory in grateful praise!….

…… Everything made by the Lord is good; He meets every need at the proper time. No one can claim that some things are worse than others, for everything is good in its proper place. Now then, sing praises with all your heart, and praise the name of the Lord!

This is taken from Sirach (Ecclesiasticus) chapter 39, verses13-15 and 33-35, but the whole chapter speaks of how good everything is that the Lord has done, His wisdom and also of people who devote themselves to the gaining of wisdom ….

It is their practice to get up early and pray aloud to the Lord their creator, asking the Most High to forgive their sins. Then, if the great Lord is willing, they will be filled with understandng. They will pour out a steam of wise sayings and give thanks to the Lord in prayer. The will have knowledge to share and good advice to give, as well as insight into the Lord’s secrets.

Sirach 39: 5-7

Be joyful always, pray at all times, be thankful in all circumstances. This is what God wants from you in your life in union with Christ Jesus.Do not restrain the Holy Spirit; do not despise inspired messages. Put all things to the test: keep what is good and avoid every kind of evil.

1 Thessalonians 5: 16-22

As we wait for the coming of Pentecost and we celebrate the birthday of the church, pray that there will be an outpouring of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The gifts which are given to us are not just for ourselves but also for the good of others. So we must excerise these gifts day by day. You’ve heard the adage – ‘If you don’t use it you’ll lose it’.  So it is with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Be led by Spirit in everything you do, and when you begin something with the Holy Spirit don’t end on your own steam but stay with the Him.

Have courage, encourage and receive courage through the Word of God. Always walk by faith.

Jesus spoke to them at once, “Courage” he said, “It is I. Don’t be afraid!” Mark 6:50

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to teach them that they should always pray and never become discouraged…….. Luke 18:1-8

The Lord wants to encourage us so as not to give up but to persevere.

Let us hold on firmly to the hope we profess, because we can trust God to keep his promise. Let us be concerned for one another, to help one another to show love and to do good. Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since you see that the Day of the Lord is coming nearer.    Hebrews 10:23-25

Keep steadfast and hold on firmly in faith. The Lord is always with us.

 In Praise of God’s Goodness

Psalm 34: 12-14

Would you like to enjoy life?

Do you want long life and happinss?

Then keep from speaking evil and from telling lies.

Turn away from evil and do good; strive for peace with all your heart.

Always speak positively with words of encouragement.

Remember, there is no such thing as a ‘white lie’ – a lie is a lie no matter what colour you’d like to paint it.

Peace for the world begins with peace in our hearts …. it will then flow to our families … which then flows to our neighbours …. whcih flows to our world.

Always doing good for others will keep us from temptations.

Psalm 34: 18

The Lord is near to those who are discouraged;

He saves those who have lost all hope

During times like these when many may feel so helpless in helping the bushfire victims, firefighters & volunteers, Remember that even the smallest prayer is heard by our Heavenly Father. Your prayers will bring the Lord near to those who are discouraged; your prayers will help save those who have lost all hope.

The Lord keeps close watch over the whole world, to give strength to those whose hearts are loyal to him.   2 Chronicles 16:9

Whatever you do, whether you eat or drink, do it all for God’s glory. Live in such a way as to cause no trouble either to Jews or Gentiles or to the church of God.   1 Corinthians 10:31

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for men.   Colossians 3:23

Everything we do can be holy and consecrated to God. All things can be sanctified to bring glory to Him. So with everything we do, bring it to Jesus as an act of love, for love is the beauty of the soul.

Catch the little foxes before they ruin the vineyard in bloom …… Strive to live in holiness. This is possible for everyone. It’s the little things in life that can make the difference.

I have decided to start up a weekly sharing which I’ve named TUESDAY’S TREASURES; thanks to the Lord for His inspiration while I was sitting in the chapel of Our Lady of the Angels on the Holy Mountain of Praise.

We attend a weekly prayer & praise meeting, held each Tuesday on the Holy Mountain of Praise. This house of prayer was specially commissioned by God for the purpose of praisng God and praying for the nations.  As the praises go up, the blessings come down and flow out to all the world. Each Tuesday we gather there to do His will. We are always given a teaching – His word to us for that day. The teachings are always based on scripture and inspired by the Holy Spirit.

This is where our homeschooling friends gather – we’ve done this for approximately 10 years (previously the meetings were held in Melbourne each Tues) and continue to do so.

The Word is so powerful and theLord is so good and I feel it’s time to share with you some of these words and teachings from our Tuesday meetings. These meetings have been dubbed Precious Tuesdays because so many special, wonderful & awesome things have been done by the Lord on these days; but I will call this sharing with you TUESDAY’S TREASURES because the Word of God is a real treasure full of love, hope, comfort, healing and encouragement.

I hope you will find these shaings encouraging and enjoyable to read. I look forward to bringing them to you each week on Tuesday night after I return home from the Holy Mountain of Praise.
